On August 21, 2019, Sofapaka FC made significant moves to boost its squad for the upcoming 2019/20 Kenyan Premier League season by signing five talented players from Uganda.
The new signings include goalkeeper Jimmy Kanakulya from Bright Stars, midfielder Mohammed Kasirye from Paidha Black Angels, Allan Katwe from Nkumba University, striker Peter Luwasa from URA, and defender Musa Malunda from Bul FC.
These additions will complement the existing local talent at the club, including midfielder Cersidy Okeyo, Brian Nyakan, Timonah Wanyonyi, and Philip Muchuma.
As the 2018/19 season drew to a close, Sofapaka FC finished third on the table with 62 points, narrowly missing out on the top two spots by just two points behind Bandari and ten points behind champions Gor Mahia.
