Italian international Davide Zappacosta, a 27-year-old right-back, is poised to make a return to Serie A after joining Roma on a season-long loan.
According to reports, Zappacosta arrived in Rome on Tuesday to finalize the deal, marking the beginning of his Serie A comeback.
Initially joining Chelsea from Torino in 2017 for a reported Sh2.9 billion (£23m), Zappacosta made 22 appearances in his first season but struggled to maintain a consistent presence in the team, playing only four times in the 2018/19 season and none this season.
His departure from Chelsea follows that of fellow defenders David Luiz and Gary Cahill, who have already left Stamford Bridge this summer.
