KCB Football Club has kicked off the 2019-2020 season with a revamped squad, bolstered by the signing of nine new players and the appointment of Zedekiah Otieno as head coach.
Unveiled in Nairobi earlier this week, the new signings include Ugandan goalkeeper Allan Owini, Sofapaka duo Denis Odhiambo and Steven Waruru, and Gor Mahia's Pascal Ogweno, among others.
According to KCB Group Director Regional Businesses Paul Russo, the changes are aimed at boosting the club's performance in the premier league.
"We are confident that the squad has what it takes to compete effectively in the local football scene, we are targeting the top honours this season," said Mr. Russo.
The team will kick off the season with an away clash against Sony Sugar on August 31st, followed by matches against Kisumu All Stars, Gor Mahia, and Homeboyz.
Head coach Zico, who has recently been tapped as assistant coach for the national team Harambee Stars, has strengthened the team's technical capacity, learning from last season's experiences.
The KCB FC technical bench comprises of Team Manager Bramwell Simiyu, Head Coach Zedekiah Otieno, assisted by Godfey Oduor Otieno, while Samuel Macharia will be the Strength and conditioning coach.
