On the eve of President Kenyatta's 2022 succession bid, the political landscape is heating up. Various groups have declared their interests, with Deputy President Ruto's allies pushing for his candidacy. However, a group of central region legislators, women representatives, and governors have countered by suggesting that early political groupings are undermining the presidential legacy, particularly the Big Four Agenda.

Enter Team Wanjiku, led by flamboyant Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, which has taken its mandate to the next level by launching a youth wing. The wing, headed by Nairobi University Chairperson Ann Mvurya, aims to engage with youth across the country and deepen the team's agendas.

According to Governor Sonko, Team Wanjiku's agenda remains focused on serving the underserved uncertainties of the general public, particularly in terms of county governments' trajectory and national government policies. The team will be touring Kisumu County this week, sensitizing the public to their expectations and government manifestos.

The youth wing has been hailed as a radical move, given its majority lies within the student fraternity, with Ann Mvurya serving as the national chairman of all universities countrywide. In a press conference at Serena Hotel, Ann emphasized the importance of giving a political bearing to other leaders and advocating for the needs of youths and students.
