Published on August 21, 2019, Kamotho Waiganjo, husband of Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, has spoken out about their marital life, citing difficulties in convincing his wife to prioritize their relationship.

According to Waiganjo, it can take up to a month for his wife to grant him conjugal rights, a situation he finds challenging to understand. He attributed this to her busy schedule as the Governor of Kirinyaga county.

Waiganjo emphasized that he does not regret marrying his wife but is concerned about their marital life, stating, “It’s hard to convince a woman in power that you gonna make her reach heaven when she is already in heaven.”

He also added, “Women should fight for their marriages by learning how to be submissive in the houses,” a statement that has sparked debate about the role of women in marriage.
