January 31, 2018, marked a dramatic day for Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, but it turned out to be a farce. According to reports, Kalonzo called the police early in the morning claiming his house in Karen was under attack.

Upon arrival, police found Kalonzo holding a live bullet and a grenade, which he claimed he had recovered from the attackers. However, the bodyguards assigned to protect him told a different story. They denied recovering anything from within the compound and stated that the loud bang was not at Kalonzo's residence.

Investigation led by Bomb Squad Unit head Eliud Langat, DCI's Nicholas Kamwende, and other officers confirmed the bodyguards' statement, adding that they had yet to recover spent cartridges at the home. This revelation raises questions about Kalonzo's claim of an attack.

The alleged attack came a day after Raila Odinga's 'swearing in' at Uhuru Park, which Kalonzo skipped. Kalonzo later claimed that his security detail had been withdrawn and that he had been prepared to be sworn in.

It is worth noting that the investigation is ongoing, and the truth behind the alleged attack remains to be seen.
