On August 16, 2019, a tense situation unfolded at Bustani Gardens in Nairobi, where former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo was allegedly involved in a confrontation that would lead to his arrest and subsequent charges.
According to the prosecution, Ndolo and his co-accused, Daniel Otieno Juma, uttered words threatening to kill Rashid Hamid, the director of Richland Properties Ltd. The alleged incident occurred at around 6:45 pm, and the court heard that the accused persons forcefully broke into the gates of the premise and commanded the security guards to leave their posts.
On Tuesday, Ndolo appeared before Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku, where he denied the charges. He was released on a cash bail of Sh200,000 or an alternative bond of Sh300,000 with one surety.
The other six accused persons, including George Otieno, Cyrus Nyamboga Gichana, Bernard Ochieng Andai, Dick Otieno Ombaka, and Hassan Dima Wario, were also released on bail. They were each required to pay a cash bail of Sh30,000 or an alternative bond of Sh50,000.
The case will be heard on October 2, 2019.
