On 21 August 2019, FIFA took decisive action in the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) crisis, appointing a Normalisation Committee in accordance with its Statutes.
The move follows the recent resignation of the EFA President and the entire EFA board, which had sparked concerns about the future of Egyptian football.
According to FIFA, the decision was made in accordance with Article 14, Paragraph 1 (a) and Article 8, Paragraph 2 of the FIFA Statutes.
