Published on August 20, 2019, Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz has called on President John Magufuli and the Tanzanian government to allocate land for the construction of a national arena.

According to Diamond, he has the financial capacity to build the arena, which he believes will be beneficial to the country.

He made the appeal during an interview with journalists at the Julius Nyerere International Airport shortly after his return from Rwanda and Burundi where he had gone to perform.

"We believe the government had a plan to build the arena, so we give them time to complete it and we also pray that God will guide them," Diamond said.

He added that the arena will provide a suitable venue for artists to perform for their fans.

"Wasafi has the capacity to build the arena, we just need time to plan and strategize with the government. If the government gives us a piece of land, we will build the arena. It will cost KSh 180 million, which is money we will raise," Diamond explained.

He noted that Rwanda has a stadium that impressed him during his visit, and Tanzania has the capacity to build a similar one.
