Kenyan basketball teams made a strong impression at the ongoing East Africa Secondary Schools Games, with Kaya Tiwi Secondary School and Laiser Hill Academy securing semi-final spots.

On Tuesday, Kaya Tiwi secured a 76-45 victory over Nabisunsa Secondary School from Uganda at the St Constantine's International School grounds, while Laiser Hill Academy beat Kibuli Secondary School 62-59.

Yvonne Atieno, Kaya Tiwi's captain, attributed their success to being in control from the first quarter, saying, "We were in control from first quarter and the team gave a good account of themselves after we lost to St Mary's Kitende."

Meanwhile, Buruburu Girls Secondary School lost 45-30 to St Noah of Uganda, but still have a chance to make it to the semis by winning their next match against Juhudi Secondary School from Tanzania.

Kenya's Dagoretti High School also secured a spot in the last four by defeating Tanzania's Lord Baden Powell 69-34.
