Former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo Charged with Threatening to Kill Businessman

On August 20, 2019, former Makadara Member of Parliament Reuben Ndolo was arraigned in court, charged with creating disturbance and threatening to kill.

Appearing before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku, Ndolo pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on a cash bail of Sh200,000 or an alternative bond of Sh300,000 with a surety of similar amount.

Ndolo was charged alongside six other suspects, including Daniel Otieno Juma, George Otieno, Cyrus Nyamboga Gichana, Bernard Ochieng Andai, Dick Otieno Ombaka, and Hassan Dima Wario.

The charge sheet alleged that Ndolo uttered threatening words against Kenyan businessman Rashid Hamid, Director of Richland Properties Limited, on August 16, 2019, at 18:45 pm at Bustani gardens along Oledume road in Nairobi.

According to the charge sheet, Ndolo allegedly said, “Wewe mjinga wa Lamu, ukileta mchezo Nairobi tutakuua kwa kukudunga dunga visu, usilete ushago hapa Nairobi si kwenu, rudi Lamu na tutahakikisha tumekuuwa (You Lamu fool if you ever joke with us in Nairobi, we will stab you because this is not your place. You should go back to Lamu else we take you there by force).”
