On August 20, 2019, a distress call was made to the police after a quarrel turned deadly at Kamukunji Estate in Nairobi.
A 28-year-old prison warden attached to Bomet GK prison allegedly hit his 23-year-old girlfriend with a blunt object in the head, leaving her in a coma.
According to Bomet Central Sub County Police Boss Musa Imamai Omar, officers rushed to the scene and found the woman in a coma. She was rushed to Longisa Referral Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Medical reports indicate that the deceased died due to excessive bleeding.
The prison warden was arrested and is currently being held at Bomet Police Station waiting for arraignment.
