On August 3, 2019, Samidoh was set to embark on a UK tour but faced challenges that prevented him from going. In a conversation with John De Mathew, Samidoh had told him he couldn't attend his show in Embu, but De Mathew reassured him, saying, 'You have never done me wrong so I know you are not refusing.'
According to Samidoh, De Mathew was like a father to him, and no one could replace him. De Mathew's music cut across all generations, and Samidoh knew him when he was still a young artiste. De Mathew had taught Samidoh to create music that appealed to all ages.
Samidoh shared that De Mathew's last words to him were, 'Go do your show, you have my blessings.' This was their last conversation before De Mathew's untimely death.
