On Sunday evening, a tragic incident occurred in Eshirembe village, Kakamega County, where a 78-year-old man allegedly hacked his 38-year-old son to death.

The incident occurred on August 18, 2019, when Mr. John Makokha, 78, allegedly killed his son Habil Amunza by slashing him with a panga.

According to eyewitnesses, the two men had been living together since Mr. Makokha's wife passed away in January 2019.

Mr. Jared Nandwa, a neighbor, claimed that his own son was killed by Habil Amunza nine years ago.

"He was of the same age with my son and they used to play together as they grew up. But Amunza took a different life that has left the village in tears. He hit my son, Alubokha, with a stool and killed him instantly. He was arrested and released under unclear circumstances four months later," explained Mr. Nandwa.

When Nyakundi Report visited the scene, the compound was deserted, and there was no indication of mourning.

However, the police were called, and officers from Butere Police Station arrested the suspect.
