Manchester United's Paul Pogba missed a crucial penalty in a 1-1 draw against Wolves on August 20, 2019. The incident has sparked debate, with some questioning Pogba's decision to take the penalty.

According to Marcus Rashford, who was initially set to take the penalty, Pogba was confident in his ability to score. Rashford revealed that Pogba tapped his chest in approval after Rashford asked if he wanted to take the penalty.

However, Pogba's powerful effort was saved by Rui Patricio, denying United three points and leaving them to sit atop the English Premier League summit.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville was critical of Pogba's decision, stating that Rashford should have taken the penalty due to Pogba's recent penalty record.

"Paul wanted to take it, it's that simple. Anyone can miss a penalty, he has scored so many penalties and it is normal to miss one," Rashford said.

"It is simple, if you want to take it, you take it. I took one last week so for me it's no problem that he took it. It's unfortunate he didn't score but that's football. The confidence that you're going to score is always the same. We practice all week and we score the majority of them," Rashford added.
