Kitui County to Host First-Ever Half Marathon

On 20th September, Kitui County will make history by hosting its first-ever half marathon in Mutomo town. The inaugural event aims to identify and tap talent in Kenya.

The half marathon will feature three races: 21km, 8km, and 6km, starting in Mutomo and ending at Ikutha Airstrip. The races are open to interested participants who will be required to register at a fee of 500 shillings for the 21km race and 300 shillings for the 10 and 8km races.

Winners of the 21km race will pocket 100,000 shillings, while runners-up will receive 75,000 shillings. The second runners-up will take home 50,000 shillings.

The event received a sponsorship boost of One million shillings from Golden Africa and half a million shillings from Communication Authority.
