Ulinzi Stars Suffer First Loss in East Africa Community Military Games

On Monday, August 19, 2019, Kenya Defence Force's Ulinzi Stars soccer team registered their first loss in the ongoing East Africa Community Military Games at Kasarani Stadium.

The team went down by two goals to one to Tanzania in their third match encounter of the campaign.

Tanzania took the lead through Kevin Nashon, but Boniface Okinyi equalized for Ulinzi. However, Tanzania's captain Maganga Vuli restored their lead, securing a 2-1 victory.

Meanwhile, in basketball, Kenyan Defence Cabinet Secretary Rachael Omamo attended the match between Uganda and Tanzania, which Uganda won with a score of 78-55 points.

Kenyan athletes also made a strong showing in the cross-country championship, with Kibiwott Kandie taking the top spot in 28 minutes and 42.5 seconds, followed closely by Phenus Kipleting in 28 minutes and 49.2 seconds.

The games, in their 12th edition, will conclude on August 24, 2019.
