With the National Sevens Circuit nearing its end, Top Fry Nakuru RFC head coach Mitch Ocholla is aiming to improve on last season's third-place finish. The team currently sits third on the log with 64 points, eight points shy of leaders KCB RFC.

Speaking after their third-place finish at the Prinsloo Sevens, Ocholla expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance, citing their adherence to the game plan and improvement in every tournament.

‘I’m happy with the boys at the moment because they’re playing according to our game plan, working hard and improving in every tournament so I would like them to continue with the momentum as the circuit nears the end,’ Ocholla said.

However, Ocholla noted that some of his players suffered minor injuries during the Prinsloo Sevens, which he hopes will recover from before the Christie Sevens in Nairobi.

‘Some of my players got some knocks and minor injuries so they’re going to be accessed medically then after getting their reports we’ll know our way forward ahead of Christie Sevens,’ he added.

According to Ocholla, there has been significant improvement in the circuit this year, with massive player development and fair officiating.

The circuit takes a one-week break before returning with the last two legs of the season – Christie (Nairobi) and Driftwood (Mombasa).
