On August 19, 2019, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced that the Kibra Constituency by-election would take place on November 7.
The move comes after the seat fell vacant following the death of the area's Member of Parliament, Ken Okoth.
According to IEBC, the by-election will be held in accordance with the Electoral Code of Conduct and the Elections Act.
