On Monday morning, a devastating fire swept through Githurai 45 furniture market, located next to Kassmart Supermarket along the Thika Superhighway.
The inferno, which began around 4am, quickly spread to adjacent shops, leaving a trail of destruction and gutting down furniture and other items at the shopping stalls in the area known as 'Kwa Mbao'.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported from the incident, although the cause of the fire remains unknown.
Firefighters were still battling the blaze at around 8am, causing a traffic snarl-up along the area and prompting motorists to use alternative routes.
