Published on August 19, 2019, John De Mathew's music continues to resonate with Kenyans today.

As a renowned Benga Kikuyu singer, John De Mathew's music conveyed powerful messages that were both educative and entertaining.

One of his songs, 'Negereria Kane', warned of the dangers of third-generation alcohol, predicting that it would affect the Central parts of the country.

Tragically, his prophecy came true, and Kiambu Woman Rep Gathoni Wa Muchomba has been working tirelessly to help alcoholics in her county.

Some of the recovering alcoholics have even graduated and were awarded certificates by President Uhuru.

John De Mathew also used his music to speak out against the plight of the boychild, as seen in his songs 'Mbeu Njithi' and 'Arume Kwina Mbu'.

He warned that the boychild is in trouble, being expected to be both the breadwinner and supporter, yet he is the one being frustrated.

Furthermore, John De Mathew prophesied about the high rate of suicide among the youth, a trend that continues to worry Kenyans today.

As seen in a recent case in Kitale, where a man killed his wife and later committed suicide, John De Mathew's prophecy has come to pass.

His music continues to inspire and warn, and his legacy lives on through his powerful songs.
