Published on August 19, 2019, Nyota Ndogo is making a name for herself as a shrewd businesswoman, venturing into the world of real estate.

With an initial investment of Ksh 10m in rentals in Kaloleni, Voi, Nyota is set to reap the rewards of her hard work in the coming months.

"I have built five houses to rent them out. I'm almost done. It has been a long gruelling but satisfying journey," Nyota Ndogo said in an interview.

According to Nyota, her desire is to be financially stable, unlike many girls who crave a lavish lifestyle. She revealed that she asked her husband, Henning Nielsen, to help boost her investments to make her rentals dream a reality.

Each of the two-bedroom houses will be rented out for Ksh 20,000 per year, with Nyota expecting to earn a cool Ksh 1.2m from her investment.

When asked how she would deal with difficult tenants, Nyota explained that she would send a letter to the tenant, outlining the terms of the rental agreement. If the tenant agreed, they would sign the letter, and if they refused, they would simply be asked to leave.

As a homeowner herself, Nyota emphasized the importance of being a well-behaved tenant, citing her own experiences when she rented in the past.

"I was a very well-behaved tenant when I used to rent. I always paid my rent on time and took good care of the property," Nyota said.

When asked for advice to other creatives who want to come up with lucrative retirement plans, Nyota emphasized the importance of planning and saving for the future.

"As a creative, you need to think about your future and plan accordingly. Don't wait until it's too late to start saving and investing in your future," Nyota advised.
