John Ng'ang'a, a celebrated Kikuyu Benga musician known as De Mathew, tragically passed away in a road accident on Sunday night near Thika.
According to Thika Base Commander Elenah Wamuyu, De Mathew's car collided with a lorry near Blue Post Hotel, resulting in his untimely death.
De Mathew, who was driving alone at the time of the accident, had reportedly just returned from a harambee event held at Metro Bar in support of fellow musician Peter Kigia.
He was pronounced dead at the Thika Nursing Home.
