Renowned Kikuyu benga musician John DeMathew, popularly known as John DeMathew, tragically lost his life in a road crash on August 19, 2019.
According to Gatanga MP Nduati Ngugi, DeMathew was returning home from a harambee event at Metro Bar in support of fellow musician Peter Kigia when the incident occurred.
DeMathew's car collided with a lorry near Blue Post Hotel along Thika Superhighway in Nairobi, and he was pronounced dead on arrival at Thika Nursing Home.
