Kakamega Man, 76, Arrested for Hacking Son to Death Over Maize

On Sunday, police in Kakamega County arrested a 76-year-old man, John Makhoha, who is accused of hacking his 36-year-old son, Habil Amunze, to death with a machete.

The incident occurred at their home in Eshirembe village, where the suspect allegedly attacked his son over six tins of stolen maize.

According to Area assistant chief Aggrey Maina, the 76-year-old man has a history of accusing his son of stealing from him.

The deceased was reportedly drunk when his father descended on him with a panga, leading to the fatal attack.

The suspect was detained pending arraignment, and the body of the deceased was moved to the Kakamega County Referral hospital mortuary.
