On August 18, 2019, Cross Over 101 TV host, Grace Ekirapa, shared a heartfelt post about her past struggles with poverty.

According to her social media post, Ekirapa recalled the days when she had to survive on a packet of milk and mandazi for supper, and then sleep, waiting for the next day.

She also shared about the times when she went through her phone book, looking for someone to call just to ask for bus fare to school, and the months when she wondered where rent was going to come from.

Ekirapa expressed her gratitude for God's goodness, saying that now she breaks at His goodness and rejoices when she can buy more than one packet of milk or pay for her matatu fare and receive change.

She continued, quoting the Bible, saying, 'The book of James 1:17 says that every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above…. In Psalm 84:11, it also says, for the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.'

Ekirapa encouraged her followers to hold on to God's promise, saying, 'He is faithful and He keeps His word. It might not be it yet but the time is coming. Hold on child of God and trust Him at His word. What He says, He will do.'
