On August 9th, 2019, the Kenya Lionesses kicked off their World Cup Qualifiers campaign with a 35-5 win over Madagascar at the Bosman Stadium in Brakpan, South Africa.

Just four days later, on August 13th, 2019, the Lionesses secured their second win, beating Uganda's Lady Cranes 35-5.

However, their winning streak was short-lived as they suffered a crushing 39-0 defeat to South Africa's Women Boks in the World Cup Qualifiers.

The Lionesses put up a spirited fight, but the Boks exploited the little cracks in their defense, landing four tries in the opening 30 minutes of the match.

Despite a strong second-half defense, the Lionesses were unable to convert their attacking opportunities into points, ultimately finishing the match with a 39-0 scoreline.

Although their World Cup journey is over for now, the Lionesses will face the winner of the South American qualifier in a play-off match, with the victor heading to the global repechage that will determine the final qualifier.
