Published on August 18, 2019, Susumila has been at the centre of controversy surrounding his music career, with some accusing him of using witchcraft to achieve success.

However, the singer has now hit back at these claims with his latest song, 'Warembo', featuring Tanzanian singer Lava Lava.

When questioned about the allegations, Susumila dismissed them, stating that 'witchcraft and Majini don't write lyrics'. He emphasized that his music speaks to people and that these rumours are merely a ploy by his opponents to discredit him.

'I have heard that for a long time,' Susumila said. 'But witchcraft and Majini don’t write lyrics. This new song is all about the lyrics and I’ve been doing music that speaks to people. These rumours are just from opponents who want to discredit any step that I take.'

He also predicted that his detractors would continue to spread false information as he continues to make progress in his career.

'I believe after this, they’ll start saying that it’s because governor Joho helped me with this project that’s why it’s flying high,' Susumila said. 'So, those things have to be there.'

Furthermore, Susumila clarified that Lava Lava is still under Diamond Platnumz’s record label, despite the song not being part of the label.

'He is still at WCB, there is how they work,' Susumila explained. 'But before this project, we had to talk to his management to sort things out.'

Looking ahead, Susumila hinted at upcoming collaborations with several artists, including Cedo, Ommy Dimpoz, Willy Paul, and a Nigerian artiste whose name he was reluctant to disclose.
