On August 18, 2019, a shocking incident of theft was captured on CCTV at Big Square Restaurant along Moi Avenue in Nairobi's central business district.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing a well-groomed man stealing a backpack from a customer.
The man, dressed in a white shirt and black trousers, walked into the restaurant while holding a mobile phone and sat next to three customers who appeared to be in a discussion.
He then pretended to be on a phone call, stretched his right leg, and slowly pulled a backpack that was placed on the floor by one of the customers.
The man stood up, picked the bag, and casually exited the restaurant while still on the phone call, with none of the customers noticing the theft.
The 80-second video was reportedly captured at Big Square Restaurant, according to Nairobi News.
