On August 17, 2019, Uasin Gishu county football team secured a third-place finish at the KICOSCA games, defeating Nakuru 4-1 at the Kericho Green Stadium.
Abel Dennis was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick for Uasin Gishu. The team took the lead in the 20th minute after Dennis chipped in a cross from Isaiah Kipkemboi, beating Nakuru's goalie Maurice Otieno.
Nakuru leveled the scores seven minutes later, with striker Kevin Ochieng firing a powerful strike into the right side of the net. However, Uasin Gishu regained the lead in the last minute of the first half, with Isaiah Kipkemboi tapping in a simple goal after Nakuru's goalie punched off Peter Wambua's effort.
Abel Dennis completed his treble in the penalty spot after Oliver Jananga fouled him, sending the ball into the right side of the goal. The win sealed Uasin Gishu's solid 4-1 triumph over Nakuru.
Abel Dennis was a key player for Uasin Gishu, using his penetrating runs and apt dribbling skills to give Nakuru's back line a hard time to handle.
Despite playing entertaining football, Nakuru could not outsmart Uasin Gishu's steadfast defense.
