On August 17, 2019, a tragic incident unfolded at Polyview Estate in Kisumu, leaving one person dead and sparking a police investigation.

According to reports, Daniel Jaoko, a manager at Ray-Green Hotel in Nyamasaria, had parked his car, blocking Peter Otieno, a Coast Bus employee, who was trying to leave the estate.

County commander Benson Maweu confirmed the 5am shootout, stating that Jaoko drew a pistol and shot Otieno three times in the chest.

Despite Otieno's serious lung injuries, he was rushed to Avenue Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
