On August 17, 2019, a fatal shooting occurred at Polyview Estate in Kisumu, leaving a matatu driver dead.

Daniel Jaoko, a hotel manager, allegedly shot Peter Otieno, a matatu driver, three times in the chest after a dispute over parking space.

County commander Benson Maweu confirmed the incident, stating that Jaoko refused to move his car, blocking Otieno's path.

According to Maweu, Jaoko dropped off his girlfriend at the estate but refused to move his car, leading to the confrontation.

Police recovered 15 bullets from Jaoko's car and an additional 42 bullets from his house in Nyamasaria.

The suspect and his car are being held at Kondele Police Station for further investigation.
