On a thrilling day at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal continued their impressive start to the 2019-20 Premier League season, defeating Burnley 2-1.

Unai Emery's men have now won their first two matches, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette scoring crucial goals for the Gunners.

The victory, which came on August 17, 2019, sees Arsenal temporarily take the top spot in the league until the remaining matches are concluded.

The match got off to a promising start for the Gunners, with Alexandre Lacazette powering home a stunning strike in the 38th minute, assisted by Dani Ceballos.

However, Burnley's Ashley Barnes restored parity for the Clarets just two minutes before the end of the first half.

Emery made a tactical substitution at the start of the second half, bringing on Nicolas Pepe to replace Reiss Nelson, and the move proved to be the right one as Aubameyang doubled the Gunners' lead in the 64th minute, with Ceballos providing the assist once again.

With this victory, Arsenal are stylishly shaking off their underdog status this season, having won their first two Premier League matches.
