On August 17, 2018, Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng'eno said 'I do' to his learned sweetheart Nayianoi Ntutu in a ceremony attended by top politicians, including Raila Odinga and William Ruto.

The 45-year-old KANU MP, who is serving a second term in parliament, finally bowed to pressure that almost cost him his political career and crossed the bridge to the married club.

The event was held at the Emurua Dikirr Secondary School, just a short distance from his home, and was a mix-up of Maasai and Kipsigis cultures, symbolic of Ngeno's political leadership as a Kipsigis MP representing a constituency in Maasai land.

ODM leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto arrived at the function aboard helicopters, while residents thronged the venue to witness what could be dubbed as the wedding of the year.

Political differences were pushed to the back burner with laughter taking over as leaders, friends, and family members of the outspoken MP took pot shots at him over the long period he took before finally settling down.

Former Bomet governor Isaac Ruto said, 'As a relative, I have pushed him for a long time to marry, but now I am happy he has crossed the bridge. God's time is the best time. It was worth waiting for more than 30 years for this beautiful lady you have finally married.'
