On Friday evening, a tragic accident occurred on the Kerugoya-Kutus road, claiming the life of a patient who was being transported to Kerugoya Hospital in an ambulance.
The accident happened near Shell Petrol Station, where the ambulance driver attempted to overtake a saloon car, resulting in the vehicle veering off the road and landing into a ditch.
According to eyewitness Isaac Kiragu, the patient in the ambulance died on arrival at the scene.
Four people, including the ambulance driver, were seriously injured in the accident.
Just 30 minutes later, another accident occurred at the same spot, involving a matatu and a Toyota Fielder. One person was seriously injured and was rushed to Kerugoya Hospital, as witnessed by Benjamen Maganjo.
