On August 16, a group of around 50 residents of Marsabit stormed the Galole police station in Marsabit County, leaving three police officers seriously injured.

According to police reports, the residents, who were reportedly dissatisfied with the handling of a case involving a young woman, had demanded that the matter be resolved by elderly members of the community.

The residents accused the police officers of mishandling the case and failing to provide adequate justice.

During the chaos, the police officers were attacked, with one being left with severe facial injuries and the others being injured in the head and back.

The residents also vandalized the police station, breaking windows and doors, and stole around 20 bullets.
