Published on August 17, 2019, US-based lawyer Makau Mutua has shared his prediction on the chances of Deputy President William Ruto in the 2022 general election.
According to Prof. Mutua, Dr. Ruto will either tame his ambitions before 2022 or they will be tamed for him, as no one can willfully make themselves President or Prime Minister.
Prof. Mutua popularized the phrase 'crystal ball' ahead of the 2013 general election when he frequently stated that both President Uhuru Kenyatta and Dr. Ruto would not ascend to the presidency.
Following his tweet, Kenyans online reminded him of his failed prophecy in the previous elections, with some questioning his credibility and the reliability of his crystal ball.
Lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi asked, 'Prof...Once upon a time...your crystal ball was firmly fixed on the duo...H.E Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto...nowadays, the crystal ball is solely fixed on the latter. Have you made peace with the former, one to one basis or via Baba's handshake?'
Others, like @KennyKaburu, questioned the reliability of Prof. Mutua's crystal ball, saying, 'Good Prof, you still believe in your crystal balls even after lying to you repeatedly?'
