On a popular Nairobi mums Facebook group, a member posed a question that sparked heated debate: should a married Christian woman use sex toys to satisfy herself if her husband is incapable of doing so?
According to the member, women often face a multitude of challenges in their marriages, including balancing work and family responsibilities, and may find themselves sexually starved due to their husband's inability to satisfy them.
Some women in the group quickly condemned the idea of using sex toys, citing Christian teachings that prohibit masturbation and sex outside of marriage.
Josephine Ogaro commented, 'Christianity and sex toys don't go together. That's sexual immorality. Please don't conform to the standards of the world and in the end lose your soul.'
Others, however, saw no problem with using sex toys and encouraged the woman to do so, citing the importance of a happy and fulfilled marriage.
As one member, Njeri Wandurua, put it, 'Christians will stone you, but I say, your children don't need a perfect mother, but a happy mother. Whatever rocks your boat, go for it! Make no apologies.'
