On August 17, 2019, Morocco national team manager Vahid Halihodzic unveiled a 46-man squad for the upcoming international break. The list includes notable players from Zamalek, such as Boutaib and Bencharki, as well as Al Ahly's Azarou.
Halihodzic took over as the Atlas Lions manager after Herve Renard's departure following Morocco's disappointing AFCON campaign, where they were eliminated.
