On Friday, officials from Uasin Gishu announced that their teams' success was due to sheer hard work, discipline, determination, and prayer.
Uasin Gishu's women's team defeated Nairobi 3-0, while their men's team hammered Kiambu by straight sets, earning them the titles for the third time in a row.
The teams now take home the trophies, and a new trophy will be unveiled in the eighth edition of the Kicosca Games, whose venue will be announced later by the governing council.
At Kericho High School, the Uasin Gishu women's team celebrated their victory with song and dance, beating Nairobi 3-0 in a chilly morning match.
Uasin Gishu player Wilson Tuwei attributed their success to their focus on the prize and not underrating any team, saying, 'It was a tough contest right from the beginning to the end, but we never took our eyes off the prize and did not underrate any team.'
Team captain Nicholas Korir added, 'For the record, we have not conceded any game since 2016 as we have gone on to beat all our opponents 3-0 from the pools right to the finals, and we are prepared to maintain that for years to come.'
Meanwhile, in the athletics competition, Maureen Nairesia from Narok County won the women's 10,000 meters race in 46 minutes, 40.09 seconds, edging out Evaline Cherop (Bungoma) to second place.
