Man Kush Wants All Sheng' Songs Banned ¶
Controversial Pastor Paul Kuria, popularly known as Man Kush, is speaking out against the explicit content of Sheng' songs, which he believes is corrupting the youth.
According to Man Kush, most Sheng' songs are either talking about sex, encouraging the use of drugs, or promoting other vices.
He pointed to the song 'Pekejeng' by Sailors as an example of the kind of explicit content he is talking about.
Man Kush said the last time he heard the word 'pekejeng' was a few years ago when someone was caught having sex with a dog in Mwea.
He said, 'The guy who was narrating used those words. He said, 'Tulimpata na mbwa akipekejeng pekejeng'.'
Man Kush believes that artistes are corrupting the minds of the youth, but the problem is that society is embracing and adopting those words and using them.
He mentioned another song, 'Lamba Lolo', which means giving a blow job but has become a way of telling someone off.
Man Kush said, 'What are you telling young people when they grow up?'
He also pointed to the song 'Lamba Nyonyo' by Willy Paul, which means lick a boob.
Man Kush says the country is lacking morals, and a song could be banned in Tanzania but be played in Kenya.
He cited the song 'Nyegezi' by Diamond Platnumz as an example.
Man Kush believes that most of the songs done by the new crop of artistes can't be watched by parents with their children.
He said, 'You will feel like killing yourself as a man of God.'
Man Kush blames the leadership for the problem, saying they are corrupt and allowing young people to release dirty songs.
He encourages every parent to take their responsibilities and protect their children from watching adult content.
Man Kush wants all media houses to ban dirty music from their airplay.
He said, 'Either the church is sleeping or the teachers who are supposed to teach morals are sleeping because one person cannot teach everyone in the country.'
Some of the trending dirty songs done in Sheng' include 'Pandana' by Ethic, 'Pekejeng' by Sailors, 'Queen B' by Sailors, and 'Zimenishika' by Ochunglo Family.
