Benga music legend Kamande Wa Kioi remains in critical condition following a collision in Githurai, Nairobi, on September 12, 2019, according to eyewitness accounts and official reports.
Sammidoh, a member of Kioi's band, confirmed the musician was involved in the accident while traveling from Kasarani to Kahawa West. The incident occurred as Kioi's vehicle collided with a bus near the Millennium area.
"I was leaving Kasarani for a meeting. When I arrived, he was waiting by his car. I got in and helped him check the vehicle, then called the chief police officer (OCS) in Kiamumbi for assistance," Sammidoh recounted.
The accident took place during a routine commute, with no immediate details about the cause. Kioi's condition remains stable but serious, with ongoing medical treatment reported.
