According to a close friend, Susan's troubles started when a powerful permanent secretary in the energy sector ended their two-year relationship.
The permanent secretary, who has close ties to State House, was known to frequently visit Susan's high-end apartment in Lavington on Thursdays and Fridays every week.
The two would wine and dine, sharing intimate moments together.
Susan has proof of their relationship, including SMS messages and pictures of them kissing.
They even took a romantic trip to Italy together, but their relationship was not without its challenges.
At one point, Susan had a disagreement with her lover when he caught her exchanging words with a man at Hotel Intercontinental, Nairobi.
The permanent secretary, one of the richest in President Uhuru's government, cited state security concerns as the reason for ending their relationship.
