On Thursday, a tragic incident occurred along the Rongo-Homabay Highway, where three men lost their lives in a brutal attack.

According to Homa Bay Police Commander Esther Seroney, the victims were riding a motorbike from Rongo Town when they were pursued and attacked by unknown assailants in a black saloon car.

"Our preliminary investigations reveal that the assailants were pursuing the deceased persons," Seroney stated, as reported by Citizen Digital.

The police commander further confirmed that the attackers fled the scene immediately after the incident and are now being investigated to identify and bring them to justice.

Residents are urged to come forward with any information that may lead to the identification of the assailants.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to the Homa Bay County Hospital mortuary for further investigation and identification.

This incident is reminiscent of a similar scenario that occurred in April at Mithuri in Naivasha, where three suspected highway robbers were gunned down by the police after defying orders to surrender.
