On August 16, 2019, the Tanzanian music scene was left reeling with the news of the brutal murder of Mbalamwezi, a member of the popular boy group Mafik.
Mbalamwezi's body was discovered on a Thursday night at 11pm, and his family and friends were left to grapple with the shocking news.
According to reports, Mbalamwezi had gone missing for several days before his body was found naked and brutally murdered.
Talking to Bongo 5, Mbalamwezi's uncle expressed his shock and sadness, stating, 'We will go and listen to what the police have to say about this while investigations are going on. There will also be a postmortem because he was found naked.'
Mafik had gained popularity with their hit song 'Niwaze,' which featured Ruby.
The music community has come together to condole with Mbalamwezi's family, with Diamond Platnumz leading the tributes.
Diamond Platnumz took to social media to express his condolences, writing, 'MAY YOUR SOUL REST IN PARADISE……??'
