On January 2, Joyce Okoth visited her lover, Myron Odhiambo, at his house in Nairobi West, where she spent three nights.

Okoth claimed she 'took' Odhiambo's electronics as compensation for her services, which she said included spending four days at his house 'serving him without pay.'

The stolen items were valued at over Sh300,000, including a HP laptop worth Sh135,000, three tablets worth Sh160,000, and a hard disc worth Sh16,000.

Odhiambo told the court that he had invited Okoth to his house and after having a good time for four days, she left early on January 5.

However, Odhiambo claimed that when he woke up, he found Okoth missing, along with some of his belongings.

Security guards manning the house said they were asleep and did not see Okoth leave.

Okoth's defense was met with skepticism by the court, with Odhiambo stating that he had no business agreement with her and had not picked her up from the streets.

He also claimed that Okoth regularly asked him for petty cash, which he did not like.

Okoth's sister was said to have been sent to return the hard disc, but she refused to give Odhiambo anything else.
