Published on August 16, 2019, the Bundesliga has long been a breeding ground for young talent, and the 2019/20 season is no exception. While the league may struggle to keep pace with its English and Spanish counterparts on the international stage, it remains a hub for some of the best young players in Europe.
One of the most promising young players in the league is Alphonso Davies, an 18-year-old winger who joined Bayern Munich in January after impressing with the Vancouver Whitecaps. Davies has made seven appearances for the Bundesliga champions, scoring his first goal for the club against Mainz in March.
Another player to watch is Kai Havertz, a 20-year-old attacking midfielder who helped Leverkusen secure Champions League qualification last season. Germany coach Joachim Loew has already predicted that Havertz will play a key role in the national team's future, and Leverkusen are aware that they may not be able to hold onto the talented playmaker for much longer.
On loan from Chelsea, Welsh international Ethan Ampadu is another young player making waves in the Bundesliga. Ampadu, who is on loan from Chelsea, has impressed RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann with his confidence in possession and defensive skills.
Other young players to watch in the Bundesliga include 20-year-old striker Sarpreet Singh, who joined Bayern from Wellington Phoenix in July, and 19-year-old Turkish centre-back Ozan Kabak, who signed a five-year deal with Schalke after impressing with his performances at the back.
