Kenya's reputation as a world-class tourist destination is under threat from a group of unscrupulous businesspeople who are preying on unsuspecting visitors.
These rogue tour operators lure tourists with promises of affordable and great tour packages, only to abandon them once they arrive in the country.
According to reports, hundreds of tourists have fallen victim to these con artists, who mount fake online campaigns and ask for advance payments before disappearing.
The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife is investigating these allegations and has called on the Tourism Regulatory Authority, the Tourist Police Unit, and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation to take action against these crooks.
It is imperative that these fraudsters are flushed out and brought to justice to protect Kenya's reputation as a hospitable and clean business destination.
