On August 15, 2019, police in Voi, Taita Taveta County, arrested five men suspected of selling biscuits laced with bhang, popularly known as 'weed cookies,' to secondary school students.

Taita Taveta Police Commander Saidi Kiprotich stated that the suspects were selling the biscuits to students in Voi town, and that they will be arraigned in court.

Commander Kiprotich also announced that a hunt is underway to apprehend other bhang peddlers in the area.

According to reports, the police are working to identify and bring to justice those responsible for the illicit sale of the bhang biscuits.
