On August 19, 2019, the National Museums of Kenya will host the 2019 SJAK and LG Football Awards, where Kenyan football stars will compete for top honors.

Francis Kahata, Enosh Ochieng, and Joash Onyango have made it to the final list of nominees for the Most Valuable Player award, beating out other notable players like Sofapaka's Umaru Kasumba, Allan Wanga, and Boniface Muchiri.

As the awards ceremony approaches, the nominees are gearing up for the competition, with Kahata, who recently left Gor Mahia to sign with Tanzania's Simba FC, set to battle it out with Enosh Ochieng and Joash Onyango for the top prize.

Other notable nominees include Brian Otieno of Bandari, Kevin Wesonga of Sony Sugar, and Joash Onyango of Gor Mahia for the Defender of the Year award, while Abdalla Hassan of Bandari and Mathare United's Cliff Nyakeya are vying for the Midfielder of the Year award.

Meanwhile, Kenyan Premier League reigning champions Gor Mahia have completed the signing of midfielder Clifford Miheso from National Super League side Kenya Police on a two-year deal, in a bid to strengthen their midfield following the departure of Francis Kahata.

On a separate note, Gor Mahia will be in action this Sunday when they take on Bandari in the Kenya Super Cup final at Machakos County stadium under the tutelage of new coach Steven Polack of England.
